REVIEWS:

Exquisite Series!

I have read all the books in this series and I would be hard pressed to choose which one I liked the most as each one has its magic and exquisiteness. I have no doubt that this particular installment is different from the others and perhaps, for that reason, it gets all my praise.

This time, the protagonist of the story includes his family in his adventures and I think this adds a refreshing energy. Intrigue and mystery related to art are present on every page, making it difficult to stop reading.

The characters are extremely well-developed and it’s hard not to empathize with them since the reader can know their intentions, thought and personal feelings.

Each Book Gets Better!

This is currently one of my favorite series. I read the first 2 books some time ago but was able to jump into this book without skipping a beat. The book could easily standalone, but you'll want to read the previous books in the series if you want to get the most out of the book.

The mysteries in this book are incredible with plenty of twists to make you want to keep reading until the end. I'd highly recommend not only the book and the series but also the author. He has a way of words that is truly impressive.

A Brilliant Read!

Rich DiSilvio writes a collection of art mysteries to be solved by Armand Arnolfini with The Arnolfini Art Mysteries. This book is part of the series, and this is volume three. This volume has a series of art cases that Arnolfini must solve.

Though, with these cases, we learn more about his family, as he brings his wife and kids along on some of his capers. In "An Old Whale's Tale" we learn about his family more. Andrea, his wife, and his daughter, Artemisia "Arty" and their son, Jaque "Jack."

It's an interesting family and how they are all close, and love to hear their father's stories, but also how they relate to Shirley, a friend and psychic. I like how the introduction of the children to the cases, and the questions they ask can only come from children, and even get more information and answers than their father. I see why he brought them along. He is also different in how he handles cases that he does alone, and the ones he brings his family along on. The reader just embarks on many superb journeys.

I hope to read more books by Rich DiSilvio. Each case is tantalizing and intriguing! The Arnolfini Art Mysteries 3 is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.

Arnolfini is Back!

Arnolfini comes back in this third delivery, a volume that changed quite a bit from the last ones. This is a family story, he continues his life as a private investigator, with the odd singularity that he includes his wife Andrea and their kids, Artemisia and Jacque in some of his cases.

I think this book is perfect for people deeply interested in art. Rich Disilvio writes with experience on the matter, so this novel, besides being fiction, is pretty factual. The writing is interesting, keeping the mystery at all times.

Overall, I still love the adventures of Arnolfini.

A Great Novel
This great novel is the second book in the Arnolfini Art Mysteries series by Rich DiSilvio. The excellent characterization and the creative narrative are complemented by pictures of famous works of art; something I really appreciated. What I especially liked is that it also portrays some topics that are controversial but key nowadays. I strongly recommend it. — Celeste S.

Neat Stories on Art Fraud

This is a series of short stories where an art expert, Arnolfini, investigates art fraud. He has two children who contribute with some childish comments that sometimes are a little more perceptive, so we have stories that incorporate some pleasant family life, and some details of the art world. When a fraud is exposed, the police take over, so while this is a series of short crime stories, there is no violence. Everything is done through exploration of technique.

It is hard to comment on the accuracy of the techniques because my knowledge of art is fairly thin. The stories tend to orient about some artists that I had never heard of (and that is a low bar) but some appear to be genuine paintings because there are reproductions given. Probably the black and white Kindle is not the best place to appreciate these, but DiSilvio makes an interesting point, namely that there were a lot of really good artists whose works are ignored because of those of the more famous.

Then he spoils the point somewhat, at least for me, by pointing out the same happened in music, and that the likes of Beethoven swamped out competition. Sorry, but here I disagree. Nobody wrote music with the intensity of Beethoven, and I am wondering whether the same applied to art – the very famous just happened to have something all the others did not. Nevertheless, these are very pleasant stories and there are things to think about.

The Deeper Beauty

Readers of this book will be plagued with moral and psychological questions, like is there a line that separates creativity from madness or a thin line that separates humanity from brutality? Obsession will drive a person crazy. Interestingly, the author shows us indirectly how it could be very dark to push limits.

The author has used descriptions and dialogues to raise tension and curiosity about how far one can go under the underpinning of dark forces, either from the outside world or from within. The cases in the book are very thought-provoking, and there is a sense of familiarity. This inspires me to read the rest of the series. Adding those beautiful illustrations was a great touch, and I would like to see more of those.

I Love Seeing Imperfections in others as its Reminds me that we’re All just Humans

If you like art and fantasy, this is the perfect book for you. I was so entertained I forgot completely where I was. I loved the illustrations made by the author as they add an extra spark to the whole experience of reading this book. It’s full of small plot-twists and flawed characters, which I loved.

I love seeing imperfections in others as it reminds me that we’re all just humans. I can definitely recommend reading this, if you want to turn off your rational brain for a while and go on a journey to a different sphere or universe as you might call it. I have to say I recommend this book deeply and I would definitely recommend buying the paper book because you will be able to appreciate the illustrations way better.

Very Exciting & Fun to Read

In this third installation of Arnolfini Art Mysteries, the author Rich DiSilvio takes us on another exciting mystery adventure. This time, we see Arnolfini’s son and daughter for the first time as they join him on his adventures, adding a new phase to this exciting book about the arts.

The story is well-written and combines the elements of history with fiction in a way that is very believable. In fact, this goes far to tell us more about the author's writing, which by now you will already be very conversant with, especially if you are a fan of his writings. The author has written many beautiful stories that are worth reading and Arnolfini Art Mysteries series is among my best owing to my inclination to the arts.

Armand Arnolfini is a very enthusiastic character whose duty is to investigate a series of art crimes which include art forgeries and theft. In this third installment, some of the art investigations include the Georgia Guidestones, works from popular artists like Michelangelo, and works by women artists like Rosa Bonheur, Bernini, William Bouguereau, and many others.

Each episode of this series is as educational as it is interesting and opens the reader’s mind to many exciting ideas. I so much love this book.
